The New Theatre workshop is the place where all our set designers and builders can come to create! Having been largely used as the theatre ‘dumping ground’ for the past few years, the workshop has now been transformed into a tidy and organised home for all things set related.

Stocked with brand new equipment and tools, in the workshop, anyone who wants to get involved is welcome to let their creative juices flow!

As workshop managers, we will simply be monitoring your use of the space, but once you are involved in a production, the workshop is yours! Of course, we are on hand if anyone needs any assistance with any of the equipment, or if you need help in sourcing wood, paints etc. We are always eager to help anyone with any of their ideas, as our prior experience of the New Theatre stage could be quite useful to you.

This year we would especially love to build up a team of designers and builders, who would be eager to work on any of our plays, and wouldn’t mind being called in to help paint or build something!

Over the years The New Theatre has produced some award-winning sets and we want to continue this legacy, and more than anything, we want the workshop to be a place where you can indulge yourselves and enjoy making a play’s world come to life! Happy creating!
