WHAT IS IMPROV?
Improvisation, or Improv for short, is a performance art where a group of performers are sent on stage, given a suggestion (such as a situation or the characters they are) they do not know beforehand, and immediately need to create a scene using nothing but their wit.
There is no way to tell what will happen in any of these scenes, as not even the performers know what their partner will do next. This makes Improv uniquely unpredictable and hilarious. No performances can ever be the same.
PRACTICE SESSIONS
We hold a weekly practice session for all members to attend; if you happen to be anywhere around Portland C11 at 6:30 on a Sunday evening, you may notice large amounts of raucous laughter occurring nearby. I heartily encourage you to investigate its cause!
The aim of these sessions is to provide a laid back, fun environment in which to learn improvisation skills and build confidence.
