S.I.N - Student Improv Nottingham

S.I.N is Nottingham's new Improv Society.

WHAT IS IMPROV?

Improvisation, or Improv for short, is a performance art where a group of performers are sent on stage, given a suggestion (such as a situation or the characters they are) they do not know beforehand, and immediately need to create a scene using nothing but their wit.

There is no way to tell what will happen in any of these scenes, as not even the performers know what their partner will do next. This makes Improv uniquely unpredictable and hilarious. No performances can ever be the same.

PRACTICE SESSIONS

We hold a weekly practise session for all members to attend, the time of which is:

SUNDAY 5pm - 7pm PORTLAND C41

The aim of these sessions is to provide a laid back, fun environment in which to learn improvisation skills and build confidence.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership only costs 4GBP for the year and as a member you can:

- Attend the practise sessions and learn the rules of improvisation. It's a great stress reliever and can give you a huge boost in stage presence and confidence.

- Become a performer and perform in front of the rest of the University

- Get discounted entrance to our performances

A Perfect Ganesh

The pilgrimage tradition is turned on its head in this spectacular production as two jaded American women take a trip to India. Plagued by their pasts, Katherine Brynne and Margaret Civil travel the length and breath of the country looking to 'heal' their souls. In their adventures, they are accompanied by none other than the elephant-headed God, Ganesh! Fluid in his guises, he appears before them in different forms-from a Japanese tourist to a leper-until a breathtaking release arrives for both women at his hands.
