4.1 The Executive Officers (voting) of New Theatre shall be:

4.1.1 The non-executive Officers (non voting) of the New Theatre shall be:

5. ROLES OF OFFICERS

5.1 President
The President has overall responsibility for the management of the theatre and is responsible, in co-ordination with the Theatre Manager, for ensuring that the Theatre is kept in a safe and usable condition. The President shall attend meetings of Students’ Union Council as the representative of the Company. He/she shall have overall responsibility for the promotion and development of the New Theatre.

5.2 Theatre Manager
The Theatre Manager is responsible for the running and maintenance of the Theatre as a venue. This role includes the booking of the venue to external companies and crews.


5.3 Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for the financial management of the Theatre and shall set and oversee the production budgets. The Treasurer shall establish a budget for the academic year and submit an account at the end of that year to the Committee. The Treasurer shall not be a final year student.

5.4 Productions Co-ordinator
The Productions Co-ordinator is responsible for the productions performed by the Theatre. He/she shall liaise with Directors over all aspects of production and provide support wherever necessary. The Co-ordinator is the direct link between Directors and the Committee and should encourage all Directors to attend the regular productions meetings. He/she shall draw up a Code of Practice for the running of productions by the beginning of the academic year and ensure that this is given to all Directors.

5.5 Technical Director
The Technical Manager shall be responsible for the safe maintenance of all lighting/sound equipment. He/she shall oversee the hire or loan of such equipment to other users and shall be responsible for the safe training of all users of this equipment, and shall assemble a team from which will be assigned the technical crew to each production. He/she shall appoint a lighting and/sound manager in the event that none are elected at the AGM.

5.6 Workshop Manager
The Workshop Manager shall be responsible for the safe and tidy maintenance of the workshop and its equipment. He/she shall oversee the hire or loan of all workshop equipment. He/she shall be responsible for the safe training of all users. He/she shall appoint the Assistant Workshop Manager and/or the Staging Coordinator in the event that none are elected at the AGM.

5.7 Secretary
The Secretary shall take minutes of all meetings, maintain the membership records and issue membership cards. He/she shall be responsible for the receipt of and response to any external mail sent to the Company. He/She shall be responsible for weekly communications to the membership.


5.8 Social Secretary

The Social Secretary shall be responsible for the organisation of social events and ensuring cohesion in a social context of all members. The Social Secretary shall also be responsible for coordinating a varied programme of events of a theatrical nature, including workshops to the membership.


5.9 Props & Costume Manager
The Props & Costume Manager shall organise the provision of props and costumes for each production, be responsible for their issue and return, and maintain the props and costume room in a tidy and proper condition.

 

5.10 Publicity Officer
The Publicity Officer shall be responsible for the printing, issue, and dissemination of all publicity, including that of productions. He/she shall assemble a team to achieve these objectives.


5.11 Fundraising Coordinator
The fundraising coordinator shall be dedicated to the improvement of the Theatre structure by managing all contractual affairs and seeking sponsorship. He/she shall take a proactive stance in ensuring that these objectives are met and provide assistance to all those seeking additional finance for individual shows.


5.12 Edinburgh Co-ordinator

The Edinburgh Co-ordinator is the first point of communication between the Company and the Fringe Office. He/she shall request and receive the relevant information and make this available to prospective Directors. He/she shall maintain records of all projects past and present and shall be devoted to raising funds for
Edinburgh and any other projects deemed to be appropriate.


5.13 Front of House Manager
The Front of House Manager shall be responsible for ticketing and refreshments sales with the aim of raising funds for the theatre. He/she shall compile records of sales and present them to the Committee on a regular basis. He/she shall be responsible for the overall smooth running of performances and shall assign front of house duties to all Committee members weekly. He/she shall be responsible for professionalism on show nights in all areas. He/she shall be the designated health & safety officer for the New Theatre.


5.14 Students’ Union Executive Attachment(s)
An Executive Attachment shall be appointed by the Students’ Union Executive and shall not have voting rights.

5.15 Assistant Workshop Manager
Shall assist the workshop manager in all areas of the workshop and perform the committee duties of the workshop manager in his/her absence. Shall report directly to the Workshop Manager.

 

5.15 Lighting Manager
Shall assist the Technical Director in all areas of Lighting. Shall report directly to the Technical Director and perform the committee duties of the Technical Director in his/her absence.


5.16 Sound Manager
Shall assist the Technical Director in all areas of Sound. Shall report directly to the Technical Director and perform the committee duties of the Technical Director in his/her absence.

 

5.17 Staging Coordinator

Shall assist the workshop manager in all areas of set construction. Shall be the main point of information on set building, design, and staging requirements for the New Theatre. Shall coordinate an effort to provide all directors with personnel for set construction and design. Shall report directly to the Workshop Manager.
