The Costumes and Props cupboard is the most important part of the whole of the New Theatre. If you become involved in it you will become a legend. You’re going to meet a lot of people who tell you otherwise, who maybe laugh at you a bit while you’re not looking- these people are visionless fools, pay them no heed. A tidy Cupboard paves the way for the excellent shows this fine theatre puts on, the maintenance of it is nothing short of a mission from the theatre gods.
The Cupboard basically consists of all our costumes, ordered by type, all in specially demarcated places. It also houses the various props spawned from the loins of the New Theatre’s theatrical forays, all ordered into basically logical areas.
As you can imagine it will take a lot of work to keep this Cupboard tidy and glorious so we are looking for a team of costume apprentices, who have a passion for props and the like, who will help keep the place nice. As a costume apprentice you will also get the opportunity to work with productions that need a specific a costume manager, helping them find what they need both within the Cupboard and beyond. This is a really rewarding job, you will be an essential part of that production team and will add the final element to make a good show a great one.
If you are interested in getting involved with the Costumes and Props Cupboard, just get in touch with either Laura (07929324394) or Lauren (07957651714) and the initiation into the hallowed world of the Cupboard can begin.
