Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce a new, duly elected committee for the New Theatre 10/11!

After five hours of speeches, questions and counting we have brought together a collection of 18 people who will soon take over the reigns of the theatre and lead it on, I am sure, to great things over the coming twelve months. Myself and the NT 09/10 Committee would like to take this chance to congratulate them all, and wish them all the best. Similarly, we would also like to extend our commiserations to those who were unsuccessful today; you were all wicked.

So, without further ado, they are as follows:

Committee: Exec (Voting)

President: Becky Catlin
Treasurer: Conrad Cohen
Secretary: Flo Hapgood
Theatre Manager: Tim Watkins
Workshop Manager: Phil Geller
Productions Coordinator: Amy Rushton
Technical Director: Lawrence Bolton
Publicity Officer: Meg Salter
Front of House Coordinator: Nell Charleston
Costumes and Props Manager: Rose Williams
Fundraising Coordinator: Pete Car y
Edinburgh and External Events Coordinator: Ben Cave
Social Secretary: Fran Rylands

Committee: Non-Exec (Non-Voting)

Sound Manager: Rob Leventhall
Lighting Manager: Kat Feavers
Staging Coordinator: Emily Davenport
Fresher-Rep Coordinator: Elsa Harriskine
Assistant Workshop Coordinator: Chris Walters

Phew! There certainly is a lot of them.

But the year isn’t over yet! Many more shows and events to go so stay tuned here for more info.

All the best,

Will Vickers
NT President (for a little while longer, anyway)

On Wednesday the 5th of May, there will be 18 positions up for grabs to become a part of the New Theatre Committee 10/11.

To find out about all the positions available, head over to our Hustings page.

(Also make sure to check out the Facebook event: bit.ly/caD7WQ)

Be sure to send your nominations to secretary@newtheatre.org.uk before the deadline date of Monday the 3rd of May. But remember – the sooner the better! You must include the following information:

- Full name;
- Desired position;
- Contact telephone number;
- Email address.

In the meantime, if you want to swot up on all things New Theatre, why not cast a glance over this year’s reports, and the constitution? Who knows, maybe someone will ask you a question about them…

Edinburgh Fringe Report 2009: bit.ly/d1KUvL

Autumn Report 2009: bit.ly/coUDoU

Easter Update 2010: bit.ly/90XtEL

New Theatre Constitution: bit.ly/9fy4At

Don’t forget that you can always contact the current committee members if you have any questions. You can find their details on our Contact page. It’s always advisable to have a chat to the incumbent committee member whose position you’re thinking of running for, just to get a better picture of what it is that they get up to and what challenges may lie ahead!

If I can offer any advice right now, it would be to ‘follow the dream, not the competition’. Run for what feels right, and not on the basis of what you think might be the easiest to run for – because if you get it you’ll be doing it for a year! And on that note: nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Also, check out the changes that have been made to the website of late!
1. Some fascinating new information on our History page.
2. An incredible opportunity to have a workshop with Les Enfants Terribles – visit our Workshops page and register your interest! (Whilst you’re on that page, check out your beautiful secretary at the top…who most certainly did not write this…)

Get sending your nomination NOW!
