The Impact and New Theatre Christmas Ball

So here it is, the most important social of 2007, the Impact and New Theatre Christmas Ball.

Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:30pm

What's the plan?

Fine dining, fine wine, and quality entertainment at the Hilton Hotel in Nottingham's city centre. Parties are expected to arrive at 7.30pm sharp, and taxis will be called for 1am for those not brave enough to venture into town.

What can we expect?

The Ball's official pre-party will be held at El Gordos Cafe (Ilkeston Road) at 6pm. The Impact and New Theatre committees will undoubtedly be in force (probably liquoring themselves up for the evening), although everyone is welcome.

Everyone should aim to arrive at the Hilton at 7.30pm, where a three course meal will be served in the Hilton's spacious banquet room. There should also be lavish Christmas decorations and live jazz, as well as a DJ. Impact and New Theatre will also be hosting a small awards ceremony.

Menu

The menu for the night is likely to be:

Starters

Melon and Prawn Cocktail

Main Course

Roast Turkey Breast with Chestnut Stuffing and Sausage served with Brussel Sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes and cranberry gravy.

Dessert

Traditional Christmas Pudding

Food and Seating

When you book your ticket online or purchase it at a box office, you will be asked for your e-mail address and who you would like to sit with. Please take the time to answer these questions.

You will also be asked if you require a vegetarian option, in this case the main course will be changed to:

Vegetable Roast with a Sun Blushed Tomato and Basil Sauce served with a Winter Salad

How do I get a ticket?

Tickets are 30 pounds, and can be purchased online by clicking here. Alternatively you can get your tickets from the New Theatre Box Office and Students' Union Reception after the 19th of November.

The tickets are strictly first-come-first-served, and are available to University of Nottingham Students and Alumni.

A Perfect Ganesh

4th - 7th June

The pilgrimage tradition is turned on its head in this spectacular production as two jaded American women take a trip to India. Plagued by their pasts, Katherine Brynne and Margaret Civil travel the length and breath of the country looking to 'heal' their souls. In their adventures, they are accompanied by none other than the elephant-headed God, Ganesh! Fluid in his guises, he appears before them in different forms-from a Japanese tourist to a leper-until a breathtaking release arrives for both women at his hands.

Doors 7.15pm
